Assalamualaikum
and a very good morning to the respectful School Principal, Senior
Assistants, teachers and my fellow
friends. Nur Faez Suraihan binti Zulkefli is my name and I am standing here
today to talk about “How Can We Become A Good Problem Solver”. I do not profess
to expert on this subject, but I will try to shed some light on this matter.
My
dear teachers and friends, let us ponder for a moment about some of these
startling facts. These statistics are by no means exclusive to my friends in
the Upper Six but is a school-wide phenomenon. Before going further, I would
like to put my 2.6 billion of opinion- I like the Trust School concept. Since
the Trust School started in our beautiful school back in 2016, we can see that
the Trust School have started to show its magic within a short period of time.
Our classes have become more cheerful and brighter, plus the learning period
turned into an enjoyable moment of ride, thanks to the Parking Lot, Reward
Chart and other segments as well. The whole class, including our teachers are
working hard (I mean, the teachers also filled with enthusiastic and spirit to
decorate their segments colourfully and cheerfully, it’s like they have their
own fight with us and their fellow colleagues, who are teachers as well!)
We continuously cut the paper nicely,
paint the worksheets in vibrant colours (red, purple, blue, you name it!) and stepped up on a chair to make sure that our
beautiful works are pasted perfectly and nicely on the wall. But, when it comes
to the exam seasons, our precious works have no longer become our pride and
glory. It is torn, vanished, lying on the dusty floor and lastly in the
dustbin, sadly. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, don’t you feel
disheartened about this? Think about it. How are we going to prevent this?
So
here it comes my 2.6 billion of idea, how about all of us in our class, collect
some amount of money, buy a piece of black or dark coloured cloth (depending on
how big is our notice boards or whether you want the choice of colour to be
standardised,) and hang them to cover all the information we have pasted
beautifully on the notice boards. The cloth is hung temporarily until the exam
is over. I know some of you would have this kind of thoughts in your mind
saying “how about we use a mah-jong paper, old newspapers instead?”. The Form
3, the Form 4, the Form 5, we all know this. The cikgus, teachers, sirs, ustazs
and ustazahs, you are even more genius on this matter. As a matter of fact, we
have this kind of tendency when we put mah-jong paper, old newspapers on our
notice boards – it will be torn in different kind of shapes and sounds. So, I
think since the feature of cloth more durable than papers, it will be more
convenient to the cover rather than choosing all those delicate papers, and it
is also a budget-saver where we can use the same cloth again and again for at
least five years maybe, rather than repeatedly spending money to buy a new
piece of mah-jong paper every single exam seasons.
I know
it may sound funny and insignificant to some of you, but please put your trust
on this, we can make a big, or maybe a huge difference. Dear teachers, dear my
brothers and sisters, this school isn’t just a place to learn, it is a place
where a large amount of community, regardless of age socialise on numerous topics
among themselves. It is not just a place where we see our teachers’, our
friends’ faces every single day, it is a place where a member of a big family
reunites. We love this beautiful school, we love its beautiful people and we
love to live in it. We live in this beautiful school, currently it is the time
to see the beauty, it is impossible if we keep our eyes, heart and minds closed
on this specific matter, so now it is the time to open them wide. Let’s rise
and shine together, do this thing together, I never been this sure, that
together we can build a better, a greater and even a wiser citizen of SMK
Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi. Thank you for lending me your ears.
